Working together

Working Together

When you work with a classmate, it helps you in many ways, like when you don't understand something your classmate can help you. He or she can help you many other ways to. When you cannot do something or forgot your book or paper, he or she can let you use his or her book. It also helps when you finished a paper, he or she can give you advice on how to make it better. When you work with a classmate, you get to do it faster and you have more ideas.

Sometimes you overcome problems when you are working like you don't agree on something. When you work with a partner, you will come head to head with many problems but the problems are most likely to be very simple and small. By small problems, I mean disagreeing and more. When there are problems, they are very easy to fix because you have two heads working together and that is easier than one head working against a problem.

Literature circle

If I have participated in the group discussion, I would have a better understanding of the  novel that we are studying.  I may have more ideas as to how I can improve my responses to the reading before the discussion.  I could have come up with better questions.  I would have thought harder on the connections.  I could have made my passage more interesting.  From the discussion, I would also have better ideas as how to work on my next literature circle.

The connection that I made from the four chapters was that I love the zoo just like Jacob does.  Another connection that I have made is that I really, really want to go to Africa just like Jacob. But the reason I want to go to Africa is so that I can go on a safari. The reason that Jake wants to visit his father and he wants to go to Kenya and I want to go to South Africa.

My prediction is that Jacob will get to go to Africa and he will find his father.  I think that his father will be very surprise to see him there and mad at the same time because his father is concerned for Jacob's safety and will want to send Jacob back home.  Jacob will then explained to his dad that he does not want to live with his aunt because he does not necessary like or know her.  His dad will then change his mind and let him stay for a few days in a cave with him.  They will study the elephants together and Jacob will definitely have an exciting time.

Malaysia

The geographic location and natural resources do play an important role in the the development of Malaysia and it can be explained as below.

Malaysia is a peninsular and  its location along the Strait of Malacca, make it an important part of a major sea-route connecting the Far East to Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.  This is good for its trading business.

Tin, oil, and gas are the major natural resources of export produced by the mining sector in Malaysia.  The major mines are situated in Peninsular Malaysia, making it easy to transport their products to the nearest seaports.  Further, there is great potential for development of this sector, since Malaysia has various relatively under-exploited mineral resources in East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak), including bauxite, iron ore, copper, ilmenite, and gold. Additionally, there are large offshore reserves of high-quality oil and gas.

The 3 main crops—rubber, palm oil, and cocoa—have dominated agricultural exports.  In addition to these products, Malaysian farmers produce a number of fruits and vegetables for the domestic market, including bananas, coconuts, durian, pineapples, rice and rambutan. The Malaysian tropical climate is very favorable for the production of various exotic fruits and vegetables, especially since Peninsular Malaysia seldom experiences hurricanes or droughts. Also, since rice is a staple foodstuff in the everyday diet of Malaysians , it plays an important part in the country's agriculture.

Malaysia is also one of the world's largest oil palm producers and one of the world's leading suppliers of rubber.  It is the world's fourth-largest producer of cocoa.  Being a tropical rainforest, logging is another important export revenue for Malaysia.

The development of Malaysia is certainly made easier by its strategic geograhical location and structure and its varied natural resources.

Mangrove

Mangrove, Mangroves are one of the most important trees in the world specially in small city's or towns. They are important because if any storm comes the mangrove will protect the towns by holding the storm back. And that is why we cant cut the mangrove trees. If there was no mangroves so many city's and towns would be destroyed.

This year the 6 grade classes went to Kuala Selangor to plant some mangrove trees. They plant mangrove trees to help mother earth. It was a sinking challenge but all the kids got throw it. All of the 31 kids planted a sapling and helped mother earth. Before people realized that we need the mangrove trees they where almost extinct. So the grope of nature said to the government that mangrove trees are one of the most important trees is the world . Sense then the government is extra protective with mangrove trees.

Because of mangrove trees so menny kids and adult have been saved of floods.

Bullying

Bullying! Not cool! Bullying is when someone does something rude or mean to another person to make them feel bad. I once observed a bullying situation that is still happening. The kid that was being bullied was very shy and unable or did not want to stand up for himself. I was not the only one who observed the situation and the kid was not the only one getting bullied. Everyone seems to get bullied this guy. Now no one likes him because he is rude, selfish and bossy. He also punches and kicks. I feel bad because I am not sure how to stand up to him. I did one time and and he said that my face was a bully and did I want a piece of him. Of course I didn't but he still bothers me. He now says we are threatening him and we don't. He is the one who threatens us. He doesn't care. My friends and I made a group of people, talked about how we didn't like him and together we all stood up to him.

Today I would do many things different like telling the bully to stop. If that does not work  I would go and tell the teacher, I know that some people call that TATTER TELLER but in a situation like this it is necessary. I don’t want to seam like a TATTER TELLER but it is better to help then to sit and watch. I hope that the bully will stop when people tell him to so that we don’t end up having to tell a teacher.

My two goals to make bullying stop at I.S.K.L

·                   If anyone bullies they will get in BIG TROBLE!!!!!!!!!
·                   If anyone sees someone getting bullied tell a teacher immediately!

Rollercoaster Ride

When I was 10 years old, I went to Genting Highland with my cousin. We went on many attractions. The first ride was called the Tear Drop Tower. Then my cousin said we should go to the rollercoaster ride that goes upside down. I said yes, why not? but in my mind I was really scared. I was going to fall and break my head and then die. I was scared to tell her that I did not want to go on the   rollercoaster because I did not want her to laugh at me.

By the time, we were at the longest line in history I was really nervous. When it was our turn to go on the couch I closed my eyes right away. When the couch started moving I closed my eyes right away. I close my eyes so tight that the only thing I felt was my hair going of my face and the wind blowing on my face. After that, I wanted to do it again with my eyes open but when I asked my cousin, she said no because the line was way too long. So when we found my mom I told her that next time we go to Genting Highland she is coming with me on the best but scary and fun rollercoaster ride ever.

Courage is all about wanting to do something that scared you but you still do it. I shoed courage because I went on the rollercoaster even if was scared and I did not back out at the last minute I sat and went throw it.

How did early humans use art to express their prehistoric culture?

Early humans did not know how to write so they drew.
They drew to communicate,to tell story's and to learn.
how do they communicate by drawing?
well they draw it out jest like acting it out.
If they wanted to tell there mom that they sow a monster they wold
draw them selfs looking at a monster.
They tell story's the same way. It's jest like a movie on a wall.
How did they learn from art?
Well they learned what can happen to them and what happened to
others.

Archeologists

If I had to choose one of these three jobs (archeologist, historian, or geographer), it would be an archeologist.

I chose archeologist because I love to dig even if I don't know what type of shovel to use and I am interested in evolution of early humans. I think I would be good at the job because I have a lot of energy to dig, patience and I do not get tired easily when I’m interested.

I will be a good archeologist because I am very good at putting things together and  analyzing the relationships between them like picking up samples of bones.

About Me

Hi, my name is Camila Guzman. I have one little sister who has just started school. I also have two older brothers, one is in college and the other one has a job and my mom and dad. I also have a turtle named Fred and a dog named Teo. I am from Venezuela (Caracas) and I speak Spanish.

Three of my favorite books are Indiana Jones and the Pyramid of the Sorcerer by Ryder Windham, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark by Ryder Windham and the Horrible Histories Groovy Greeks by Terry Deary.

The last movie I have seen was Eclipse and it was awesome. It was about a vampire falling in love with  a human being.

My academic goal this year is to improve on my spelling.

My social goal is to make more friends.

If I had to pick my favorite memory of my vacation, it is when I went to Phuket (Thailand) with my friend last summer.

If I had to say five adjectives about myself, they would be: Caring, Funny, Kind, Trustworthy and Weird.
